Phish Shares Footage Of ‘Scents & Subtle Sounds’ Bust Out

Last Wednesday Phish delivered a top-shelf performance during a top-shelf tour at The Mann in Philadelphia. One of the highlights from the show was the return of the complete “Scents & Subtle Sounds” and today the band has released incredible pro-shot video of the bust out.

The complete “Scents & Subtle Sounds” hadn’t been performed since way back in 2011 at the band’s Super Ball IX festival in Watkins Glen, New York. The jam starts with a pretty major key foray not too far off from the “Harry Hood” jam, but the band eventually found a minor key, vamping on a two-note lick over which guitarist Trey Anastasio played some nasty leads before bringing the song to a mostly a cappella version of its conclusion. All told “Scents” came in at just under 15 beautiful minutes of music. Take a look:
