This Friday, May 20, Phish will issue their fifth studio album – 1994’s Hoist – as a limited edition/individually numbered 180g 2-LP audiophile black vinyl set both online and at stores. Last month, Phish unveiled a colored edition of Hoist on vinyl for Record Store Day.

Phish recorded Hoist in late 1993 at American Recording Co. in Calabasas, California with producer Paul Fox. The album features such beloved song as “Down With Disease,” “Sample In A Jar” and “Julius.” The quartet enlisted a number of guests for Hoist including the Tower Of Power Horns, vocalist Alison Krauss, banjo wiz Bela Fleck and trombone from Jonathan Frakes, aka Commander Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

In September 2015, Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering cut the lacquers from the 1/2″ flat master reels for the vinyl edition. Each LP includes a free MP3 download of the album transferred from the vinyl.
