Phish Performs ‘Bathtub Gin’ In Bangor & Announces ‘A Live One’ Anniversary Special On SiriusXM
Phish has unveiled pro-shot video of the expansive “Bathtub Gin” the band performed on Tuesday night in Bangor, Maine. In addition, the quartet confirmed a special in honor of the 24th anniversary of their debut live album, 1995’s A Live One, will air on SiriusXM’s Phish Radio tonight (Thursday, June 27) at 9 p.m. ET.
The exploratory “Bathtub Gin” came in the four slot of Tuesday’s first set. “In recent years, ‘Bathtub Gin’ has been asked to bear a lot of weight in second sets and closing spots, but this is the ideal spot for the song: batting cleanup in the first set, free from expectations and with space to stretch out,” JamBase contributor Robert Ker wrote in his recap of the concert. “The band pulled the song slightly in Type II territory, limbering themselves up for bigger jams to come.”
