Phil Cook Shares New Single ‘Miles Away’ Featuring Amelia Meath

Phil Cook will issue his second solo album People Are My Drug on June 1 through Psychic Hotline/Thirty Tigers. The multi-instrumentalist shared another single from the album, “Miles Away,” which features Sylvan Esso/Mountain Man vocalist Amelia Meath.
Phil Cook’s brother (and Megafaun band mate) Brad Cook produced the follow-up to Cook’s 2015 debut solo album Southland Mission. Phil recorded the nine-track People Are My Drug over 10 days in his native Wisconsin and his current home state North Carolina. The record finds Phil supported by his backing band The Guitarheels, comprised of drummer JT Bates, bassist Michael Libramento and keyboardist James Wallace.
Phil Cook, who also tours and records with Hiss Golden Messenger, premiered the single “Miles Away” featuring Meath via Stereogum. Listen below:
