Peter Frampton announced details of Carry The Light, his first album of all-new rock material in 16 years. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer previewed a guest-filled record due for release on May 15 via UMe by sharing its lead single, “Buried Treasure.”

The 10-track LP features guest appearances from Sheryl Crow, Tom Morello, Bill Evans, H.E.R., Graham Nash and Benmont Tench. Peter Frampton co-wrote and produced Carry The Light with his son, Julian Frampton.

“The Carry The Light album is the first new music from me in 16 years. It was one of my most enjoyable projects ever. I got to work with my son Julian—writing and producing together. A first of many for us I’m sure,” Frampton stated

Thank You Mr. Churchill, Frampton’s last album of new original material, arrived in 2010. He has since released four LPs, including songs for ballets on Hummingbird In A Box (2014), unplugged reworkings of his greatest hits on Acoustic Classics (2016), covers of blues standards on All Blues 2019 and instrumental versions of rock covers on 2021’s Frampton Forgets The Words.

Peter Frampton honors the late Tom Petty on “Buried Treasure,” the first taste of Carry The Light. The song’s lyrics were crafted entirely of Petty song titles. Frampton enlisted Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench to add his signature style to the single.
