Perpetual Groove unveiled a studio version of oldie “Suburban Speedball” today along with an animated video for the track. “Suburban Speedball” is the second of two “new” songs featured on the veteran jam quartet’s forthcoming Sweet Oblivious Antidote 20th Anniversary Edition reissue.
2003’s Sweet Oblivious Antidote has been completely remixed from top to bottom for a reissue due out early next year. The album, complete with bonus tracks “Suburban Speedball” and “Out Here”, will be available on vinyl for the first time.

“We’ve never given this one the proper studio treatment,” explained keyboardist Matt McDonald. “It was time.”
“There were several early era songs we were kicking around to put on side four of the 20-year anniversary vinyl press,” added guitarist/vocalist Brock Butler. “It was Darren [Stanley], our new drummer, that suggested ‘Suburban Speedball’ and I’m so glad he did! As soon as we started riffing it was the obvious right call.”
