Pearl Jam appeared on a recent episode of SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. The legendary rock band offered songs from their recently released album, Dark Matter, alongside classic PJ tunes.

Performing from their homebase in Seattle, Pearl Jam delivered two cuts off Dark Matter — opener “Scared Of Fear” and track eight “Running.” On the former, Howard shared his notes with the band saying that next to “Scared Of Fear” he wrote “great fucking riff.”

Additionally, Eddie Vedder explained why he didn’t want the band to release “Better Man.” Stern also got the low down on one of his favorite Dark Matter cuts, “Waiting For Stevie.” Vedder told the tale of how he and producer Andrew Watt began writing the song waiting for Stevie Wonder to show up to a recording session. The conversation also touched on Eddie performing with The Rolling Stones, 100 takes to record “Even Flow” and more.
