Paul Cauthen announced a four-week acoustic residency of Wednesday night shows in his hometown of Dallas. The outlaw country musician will continue to “get back in the swing of things” at Dallas’ Kessler Theater on June 11, 18, 25 and July 2.
In March, Paul Cauthen revealed he had been diagnosed with papillary carcinoma, a form of thyroid cancer. At the time, Cauthen vowed to tour again and sing on stage, adding that he had new music in the works.

Paul Cauthen abruptly canceled his Black On Black Tour in February and went home to focus on his “mental and physical health.” He underwent tests at the Cooper Clinic, where doctors found a “hot spot” within his thyroid. Cauthen has been taking what he dubbed a “holistic approach to beating cancer” since.
The singer-songwriter will return to the stage on Saturday, May 17 with a set at the Tennessee Motorcycle & Music Revival. Cauthen will then perform at the inaugural Sand In My Boots festival on Sunday, May 18 and will play a home-state gig on Albany, Texas on May 30 before settling in at The Kessler Theater.
“Friends and family! I’m coming home to the Kessler Theater in Dallas. I’ll be playing a broken down, acoustic set residency to get back in the swing of things. No better way than in front of the folks that put me on the map!” Paul Cauthen wrote in an announcement of the residency on social media.
“I’ll be playing my oldest material to songs that I just finished. These tickets always fly fast at the Kessler! I’m a different man with a different fire inside. Ready to smoke these shows! Look forward to it!” he added. The statement was accompanied by video of Cauthen performing “Prayed For Rain” from his 2019 album, Room 41.
Tickets for all four shows go on sale Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. CT
