Austin City Limits will record an episode with Olivia Rodrigo on Wednesday, July 29. The taping comes five years after Rodrigo made her Austin City Limits debut at age 18, her first full-set performance before a live audience.
Rodrigo’s upcoming ACL return will mark the first full-set performance of her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. Released in June, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love followed Rodrigo’s previous two full-lengths, 2021’s SOUR and 2023’s GUTS. Like those releases, Rodrigo’s third album was also her third to top the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
Information on how to enter a giveaway for free passes to the taping will be posted one week prior to Rodrigo’s ACL taping. The hour-long episode will premiere on PBS this October as part of Austin City Limits Season 52. The long-running live concert program will feature full-hour episodes devoted to individual artists the first time. The episode will also stream on the PBS App and at pbs.org/austincitylimits.
