The inaugural Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will be held March 4 – 6 just outside of Florida’s Lake Okeechobee. After two initial artist announcements, organizers have added even more acts to the lineup including Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, legendary hitmakers Hall & Oates and the newly reunited Ween. This marks the fourth Ween show on the books for 2016 in addition to a three-night run in Colorado February 12 – 14.
Today’s announcement also includes the lineup for the house and techno focused, dusk- til-dawn Jungle 51, including: Damian Lazarus, Virginia, Marcel Fengler, Anton Zap, Voiski, John Acquaviva, rRoxymore, Dj Three, Andrew Grant, Max Jacobson, Jeffrey Scott, Brian Cid, Orazio, Chris Nitti, Driss and Rambo Springsteen and more to be announced. The festival has also added Aquachobee Beach artists including: Life On Planets, Jan Blomqvist, The Whitest Taino Alive, Mixmaster Morris, Dirk Largo, Twin Limb, Solar, David Marston, Atnarko, The Happy Show, One Of Them, Low Cut Live, Carlos Chies and more to be announced.
In addition, organizers have announced the Miguel PoWow! With Very Special Guests, produced by Paul Peck, the creative force behind many iconic Bonnaroo SuperJams. “With PoWoW!, we’re cooking up an historic concert, the kind where you don’t know who is going to walk out on stage or what will happen next,” said Peck in a statement. “Miguel is a supreme talent and we’re working closely with him to defy and exceed all expectations. The idea is to create a show that we personally want to experience together with fans at Okeechobee. We’re going to invite fans to submit their ideas for PoWow! to us on Facebook and Twitter, and if we use an idea, we’re going to hook up those fans in a cool way.”
Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will be held at Florida’s Sunshine Grove, a site that features over 800 acres of pristine grasslands, clear lakes, and exotic tropical woodlands. In addition to the music, festival attractions are expected to include a white-sand lakeside-swimming beach and bar, wooded VIP camping areas, an assortment of immersive art installations and a wide array of locally sourced treats from some of Florida’s most popular food trucks, craft beer makers and artisanal purveyors. The festival will be presented by Soundslinger, LLC, a team of concert promoters and producers with credits that include helping to launch and promote Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and China’s STORM Electronic Music Festival.
3-Day GA passes are currently on sale via Okeechoebeefest.com. These passes include parking, tent camping and access to all three days of the festival. Extensive VIP options are also available.
