Oasis’ Noel and Liam Gallagher officially confirmed their first shows in 16 years by announcing the UK/Ireland leg of the Oasis Live ’25 world tour. Nearly 30 years ago, Oasis made their U.S. television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman to support their 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe, and returned six months later to promote their 1995 follow up, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
Oasis’ premiere American television performance came on March 8, 1995. The band was supporting their historically successful debut album Definitely Maybe, which arrived in August 1994. Read David Letterman’s introduction below:
“Ladies and gentlemen, our next guests are a great rock and roll band from Manchester, England whose CD, I have a copy of it right here, called Definitely Maybe is the fastest selling album in Britain’s history and I’m telling you something, that country has been selling CDs for centuries. Do me a favor, please welcome to the program Oasis.”
