NPR To Webcast Americana Music Honors & Awards Show

The 14th annual Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show will be held Wednesday, September 16 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Kicking off the 16th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, the Honors & Awards show will be webcast live on NPR.

Hosted by Jim Lauderdale and featuring an all-star house band led by Buddy Miller alongside Don Was, Chad Cromwell, Fats Kaplin, Ian Fitchuk, The McCrary Sisters and Bill Payne, the show will include awards presented in six categories as well as a number of live performances. Among those slated to perform include Lifetime Achievement Award honorees Buffy Sainte-Marie, Don Henley, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Ricky Skaggs and Los Lobos. Others tapped to perform were last year’s triple-award winner Jason Isbell, Robert Randolph with the Fairfield Four and the McCrary Sisters, Shakey Graves with Esme Patterson, Ry Cooder and Sharon White, Buddy Miller with Marc Ribot, Keb Mo, Rhiannon Giddens, John Hiatt, Houndmouth, Nikki Lane, The Lone Bellow, The Mavericks, Doug Seegers, Lucinda Williams and Lee Ann Womack.

The show begins at 8 p.m. ET on September 16 and will also be broadcast live on SiriusXM’s “Outlaw Country” terrestrial radio partner WSM and via Folk Alley (audio only). Head to NPR for more information on the webcast.
