Norah Jones Covers ‘Black Hole Sun’ At Site Of Chris Cornell’s Last Show

By Scott Bernstein May 24, 2017 6:44 am PDT

Songstress Norah Jones continued a lengthy tour on Tuesday night at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. A few nights earlier Soundgarden played the Fox and Chris Cornell died just a few hours after the concert. Jones took an opportunity during her show to honor Cornell.

While Norah was backed by her band for most of the evening, her debut cover of “Black Hole Sun” featured just the vocalist and a piano. Jones deconstructed one of Cornell’s signature songs in a beautiful and stirring way as she built the chorus to a crescendo. Kudos to Norah on the impressive interpretation of “Black Hole Sun.”
