JOIN SF SINGER-SONGWRITER’S DEBUT
With all the warmth of a memory or a good day under open skies,
Nicki Bluhm‘s debut,
Toby’s Song, arrives next Wednesday, May 7th. It was produced by her husband
Tim Bluhm of The Mother Hips, who plays on the album, which also features contributions from
Jackie Greene (guitar, bass, piano, organ, drums),
Deren Ney (guitar, bass) and
ALO bassist
Steve Adams. From the Maria Muldaur/Bonnie Raitt ’70s honky tonk of “Big Road” to the more contemplative swoon of “Keep It Loose” and the sidewalk bounce of “I’m Your Woman,” Nicki Bluhm has the breezy but deeply crafted feel of classic pop-rock from the vinyl era but touched by a thoroughly contemporary perspective.
The album release show is Wednesday, May 7 at Cafe du Nord in San Francisco, where Bluhm will share the bill with Jackpot and Lee Bob Watson.
