Newport Folk Festival Starts Rolling Out 2016 Lineup

Continuing a trend from the last few years, organizers of the Newport Folk Festival will once again slowly reveal this year’s lineup. The 2016 installment of Newport Folk will take place at scenic Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island July 22 – 24. Today, organizers have confirmed the first artist set to play Newport ’16.
Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne will make his return to the Newport Folk Festival on Friday, July 22. Single-day tickets for Friday are still available as of press time via the festival’s website. LaMontagne made his Newport Folk debut in 2005 and has not played the festival since. Ray LaMontagne will release a new album entitled Ouroboros on March 4.
