Newport Folk Festival Adds Jim James To 2017 Lineup

The Newport Folk Festival continues to drip out its 2017 lineup with a steady stream of almost-daily announcements. Today, fest organizers have revealed that My Morning Jacket and Newport Folk Board Of Advisors member Jim James will perform a solo set on Saturday, July 29.

The MMJ frontman joins his fellow band mate Carl Broemel, who will also play a solo set, on the lineup that includes recent additions Pinegrove, John Paul White, Steelism with Ruby Amanfu & Nicole Atkins, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Mt. Joy, Billy Bragg & Joe Henry, Shovels & Rope, Grandma’s Hands Band, Chicano Batman, Berklee Gospel & Roots Choir, Nancy and Beth, C.W. Stoneking, Joseph and L.A. Salami.

The Newport Folk Festival will take place at historic Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island on July 28 – 30. Tickets for the Newport Folk Festival are sold out.
