Canadian rock legend Neil Young recorded an instrumental solo electric guitar version of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Young’s dramatic performance of the American national anthem was shared on Thanksgiving in a video titled, “Stand For Peace.”

Young posted the below message that accompanied the video:

“Our new presentation specially for all of you this holiday season is ‘Stand For Peace,’ directed by Daryl Hannah. We hope for a wonderful day for all, safe travels to each of you, seeing your loved ones and a peaceful day.”

The video’s audio was produced by The Volume Dealers (Young and Niko Bolas). In the nearly three-minute clip, Young plays his familiar black Gibson Les Paul guitar while a disco ball illuminates a stark stage adorned with tattered American flags. The video ends in a wash of feedback as the messages “Stand For Peace” and “Be Brave” are spelled out on the screen.
