After nearly two years Neil Young‘s team unearthed professionally-shot video and multi-track audio of a historic 1990 Neil Young & Crazy Horse concert held at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, the release of Way Down In The Rust Bucket is less than a month away. The latest taste of the live album and concert film, which arrives through Reprise Records on February 26, comes with audio featuring “Don’t Cry No Tears” from the set.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse took the stage at the intimate Santa Cruz club on November 13, 1990. The only full Neil Young & Crazy Horse concert of 1990 came two months after the release of Ragged Glory. Young, Frank Sampedro, Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina filled the setlist with a mix of classics, rarities and early versions of Ragged Glory tracks. “Don’t Cry No Tears” hadn’t been performed by the quartet since 1985 outside of a rehearsal set the previous night. Neil and the band originally issued the song on their 1975 studio album, Zuma.
