Neil Young & Crazy Horse ‘Barn’ Documentary Coming To YouTube
The 73-minute film provides a behind-the-scenes look at the legendary band recording their latest studio album.
Barn, a Neil Young & Crazy Horse documentary chroniciling the making of the band’s recently released album of the same name, will be available for streaming on YouTube starting this Thursday, January 20 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
The 73-minute, Daryl Hannah-directed Barn shows Neil Young teaming with Crazy Horse bassist Billy Talbot, guitarist Nils Lofgren and drummer Ralph Molina to record the 10-track album in a restored 19th century log barn in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. “The film captures Neil and the Horse in an organic way, their easy irreverent humor, their brotherhood, and of course their music, as it was created,” reads a synopsis of the documentary. “Barn intentionally lingers on single shots for entire songs, showing there are no tricks, revealing the raw, organic and spontaneous process of the music bursting to life from unexpected moments.”
Neil Young and fellow “Volume Dealer” Niko Bolas co-produced the follow-up to 2019’s Colorado which was issued by Reprise Records back on December 10. The documentary is available for purchase both as a standalone Blu-ray and as part of the deluxe Barn box set.
