Watch Neal Francis Sing ‘Take Me Out To The Ballgame’ At Chicago Cubs Game
The Windy City area native was the guest conductor during the 7th-inning stretch last night at Wrigley Field.

Neal Francis guest-conducted “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the 7th-inning stretch of last night’s Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Francis, who was raised nearby in the Oak Park suburb, brought good luck to the home team who defeated the visiting San Diego Padres.
Broadcasting legend Harry Caray popularized singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” in the mid-1970s while calling Chicago White Sox games. The Hall Of Fame broadcaster brought it to Wrigley Field when began calling Cubs games in 1981. The tradition continued at Wrigley Field following Caray’s retirement and subsequent death in 1998.
Last summer, Francis threw out the first pitch at a White Sox home game, where he was announced as a “lifelong White Sox fan” while taking the mound at Rate Field on the city’s South Side. Francis donned customized Chicago Cubs gear while attending last night’s game on the North Side at Wrigley Field.
