Neal Francis shared the mesmerizing new single, “Broken Glass,” along with a provocative video. The track is the last advance preview of the singer-songwriter and pianist’s highly anticipated third studio album, Return To Zero, which arrives this Friday, March 14 via ATO Records.

“Broken Glass” features Say She She's soaring vocal harmonies. The Brooklyn-based trio stars on multiple Return To Zero cuts. The 11-track follow-up to 2022’s In Plain Sight was co-produced with frequent collaborator Sergio Rios. Francis recruited members of his touring band to contribute to the sessions.

The genesis of “Broken Glass” came in an unexpected fashion. “This tune was born from a jam session with Michael Shuman from Queens of the Stone Age,” explained Francis. “He was on drums and I was on bass. It was the first time we met, and not only did we have fun, but left with a complete song. The lyrics were free-form material I had written down about sub/dom relationships in the bedroom.”

Neal Francis enlisted Alec Basse to direct a video for “Broken Glass” that picks up on the song’s S&M themes. Francis is subjected to playful torment by a seductive antagonist in the visual, culminating in a dramatic finale.
