Supergroup Muzz released the four-track Covers EP today via Matador Records. The trio — which consists of multi-instrumentalist/producer Josh Kaufman (Bonny Light Horseman), guitarist/vocalist Paul Banks (Interpol) and drummer Matt Barrick (The Walkmen) — also unveiled a video from their first ever live performance.
Muzz recorded renditions of Arthur Russell’s “Nobody Wants A Broken Heart,” Bob Dylan’s “Girl From The North Country,” Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” and Tracy Chapman’s “For You” for their Covers EP. The collection follows the June release of the band’s self-titled debut studio album.

Paul Banks and Josh Kaufman are childhood friends, who went to the same high school in Spain before each moved to New York City. It was in NYC where the pair connected with Matt Barrick. The three musicians ran in the same circles and collaborated on various projects before forming Muzz, which held their first recording session in 2015.
