Ms. Lauryn Hill will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her iconic 1999 studio album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill with a North American arena tour this fall. Hill will regroup Fugees with bandmates Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean for shows taking place between October 17 and November 9.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator. I wrote love songs and protest songs— (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past,” Ms. Hill said of the album and its impact.

“I loved music, I loved people, I truly felt grateful to God for my life, and genuinely blessed to have a platform where I could share wisdom and perspective through music,” Ms. Hill continued. “I felt a charge to challenge the idea that certain kinds of expression and/or certain kinds of people didn’t belong in certain places. I loved showing what could work or happen provided there was imagination, creativity, and LOVE leading the way.”

Fugees recently teamed up for a performance at Roots Picnic back in June. The trio previously took the stage together in 2021 for the first time since 2006. Fugees planned to tour in 2021 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their 1996 album, The Score. The trek was canceled with the band citing COVID-19 and other complicating factors for scrapping the brief tour. Fugees’ upcoming co-headlining run with Hill may be their last as Michel was convicted in a federal campaign finance case this past April. Pras Michel “faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison,” as per The New York Tines.

Up first for Ms. Lauryn Hill is a gig in Minneapolis on September 8, an appearance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City on September 23 and a trip down under for shows in Australia and New Zealand to start October.

Ms. Lauryn Hill will be joined by Fugees starting with a concert in Newark, New Jersey on October 17. Stops in Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago and Fort Worth follow over the remainder of October. In November, Ms. Lauryn Hill and Fugees bring the tour to Denver, Los Angeles and Oakland before concluding the co-headlining excursion in Seattle on November 9.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. local time. Buy Ms. Lauryn Hill and Fugees tickets through Ticketmaster.com.
