Earlier this week, we pointed out an incredible video that surfaced on YouTube showing the Grateful Dead soundchecking “Not Fade Away” at the Beacon Theatre in NYC from 1976. We wondered if there was more footage from where the “NFA” clip came from and today we have our answer and it’s “YES!”

The 17-minute clip below features portions of “U.S. Blues,” “Not Fade Away” and “Cold Rain & Snow” from the Grateful Dead’s June 14, 1976 soundcheck. We also get to see footage of the crowd waiting to enter the historic venue as well as an interview with Bob Weir and Mickey Hart. Weir explains why the band broke up two years earlier, why they got back together and details their mail order system, while Hart talks about why they decided to play to smaller crowds on their first tour back.
