Moonalice released a single, “Let’s Get Funky.” The track is set to land on the Bay Area band’s upcoming EP, Full Moonalice Vol. 1, due out on April 20 via Nettwerk.

“Let’s Get Funky” continues Moonalice’s rollout of their new EP ahead of releasing “Woo Woo” in January and The Chambers Brothers classic “Time Has Come Today” penned by Lester Chambers, who, along with his son Dylan Chambers, is the newest addition to the band alongside Erika, Rachel and Chloe Tietjen of the T Sisters.

Lester Chambers also wrote latest single “Let’s Get Funky” during his Chambers Brothers days. The band put “Funky” out in 1970. But Lester drew inspiration for the tune from memories he had of his parents. “When I wrote that song,” Chambers told American Songwriter who premiered the track, “it was about memories of sitting in the living room and watching my mom and dad cook. The beginning of ‘Let’s Get Funky’ came right there.”

Produced by Grammy-winning engineer Dave Way, “Let’s Get Funky” also features Moonalice’s John Molo on drums, Pete Sears on bass, Barry Sless and Roger McNamee on guitar and Jason Crosby on keyboards. Lester Chambers sings lead and also added harmonica alongside Dylan Chambers and the T Sisters backing vocals.
