Molly Tuttle Shares Heart-Warming New Single ‘The Highway Knows’

Molly Tuttle released “The Highway Knows,” the latest preview of her forthcoming new solo album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also unveiled a video for the track, which she’ll perform this weekend on CBS Saturday Morning.

Due out on August 15 through Nonesuch Records, So Long Little Miss Sunshine comes on the heels of two albums Tuttle released with her band Golden Highway. Molly Tuttle recorded the 12-track LP with producer Jay Joyce in Nashville. She previously shared its lead single “That’s Gonna Leave A Mark.”

The romantic “The Highway Knows” was penned by Tuttle and her partner, Old Crow Medicine Show's Ketch Secor. Molly Tuttle stated the following about the song:

“I’m excited for everyone to hear The Highway Knows because it’s one of my favorite songs on the new record. I had written the finger-picked guitar part that you hear in the chorus a few years ago, and finally last year Ketch Secor and I dug up the voice memo of that guitar scrap and wrote words to it. This song is all about finding the person you want to journey through life with. The track came to life once Jay Joyce produced the sprawling guitar solo section that I improvised over midway through, which brought it to a higher peak dynamically. I think this song is reflective of a lot of the album stylistically– We wove together different genres and sounds, and ended up with something that I’m really proud of.”

“The Highway Knows” arrived with a video directed by Fletcher Moore and shot and edited by Michael Kessler. Watch the visual below:
