moe. Debuts Tom Petty Cover At moe.down

moe. kicked off their 17th annual moe.down music festival on Thursday night at Snow Ridge Ski Resort in Turin, New York. The Buffalo-bred band treated the New York State audience to a fitting 4th of July debut of Tom Petty’s “American Girl.”

The Petty cover came sandwiched between “Tailspin” to close out the first set, which opened up with the classic “Bring It Back Home” and also contained “Captain America,” “Hi & Lo,” “32 Things” and “Prestige Worldwide” among others.

The nearly continuous second set featured “Skitchin Buffalo (nh),” “Puebla,” “Don’t Wanna Be,” “Seat Of My Pants,” “Sensory Deprivation Bank,” “ATL,” and closed out with “Plane Crash.” The band encored with a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.”
