moe. Debuts Faces Cover & Breaks Out J.J. Cale Cover In Denver
The premiere of “Ooh La La” started the Saturday night encore at the Ogden Theatre, while the sextet’s first “Cajun Moon” in over six years came early in the evening.

moe. closed out a two-night stand at Denver’s Ogden Theatre on Saturday. The show featured a pair of setlist surprises, as the sextet premiered a cover of a Faces classic and dusted off a long-lost J.J. Cale cover.
After opening with the oldie “Don’t Fuck With Flo,” moe. linked “Water” and “Hector’s Pillow.” Guitarist Chuck Garvey then stepped into the spotlight to lead “Hi And Lo.” Garvey passed frontman duties to bassist Rob Derhak for the band’s first cover of J.J. Cale’s “Cajun Moon” since January 8, 2020 — a gap of 335 shows.
The ensuing “Jazz Wank” was nicely extended and paved the way for a segue into “Buster.” However, the “Buster” intro was only a fakeout as moe. instead lit into “Plane Crash” to bring the first set to a close.
moe. kicked off set two with their first “Farmer Ben” of 2026. Nate Wilson's “Yellow Tigers” came next and gave way to a 19-minute “George.” The six-piece took the subsequent “Recreational Chemistry” even deeper and sealed the five-song closing stanza with a well-jammed “Giants.”
At the beginning of the encore, guitarist Al Schnier revealed a fan named Alex made a generous donation to the American Cancer Society and collaborated with him to write the setlist. Schnier then guided the band through their debut performance of “Ooh La La.” Faces originally released the song as the title track of their 1973 album. A “Mar De Ma” was added for good measure to end moe.’s weekend in Denver.
