The 16th annual Summer Camp Music Festival came to a close on Sunday at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. Twiddle, Yonder Mountain String Band, Umphrey’s McGee, Jason Isbell, Mudcrutch and Big GRiZmatik were just a few of the many acts who rocked Summer Camp stages on Sunday. One of the event’s traditional headliners, moe., played the weekend’s final sets on the Moonshine Stage and had a few surprises in store.

moe. opened their first of two Sunday sets by busting out a cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” for the first time since March 29, 2008. The group was joined by old friend Allie Kral of Yonder Mountain String Band on fiddle for The Who cover. moe. finished off the first set with a pair of classic song sequences from their early days: “Spine Of A Dog” > “Buster” and “Jazz Wank” > “Rebubula.” The five-piece bookended Sunday’s second set with heavy hitters as “Recreational Chemistry” opened and “Timmy Tucker” closed. All told, moe. focused on improv during a five-song second set that also included “Kids” > “Down Boy” and “Silver Sun.” moe. had one more trick up their sleeves for the encore as they said farewell by debuting a cover of Cream’s “White Room.”
