Moby announced a new album, Reprise, set for release on May 28th via Deutsche Grammophon and featuring reworkings of some of his musical highlights with the Budapest Art Orchestra as well as other special guests. The renowned producer and musician shared his classic, “Porcelain,” featuring My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James.
The new record also sees eclectic collaborations with Gregory Porter, Kris Kristofferson, Skylar Grey, Darlingside and more. Moby was inspired to create the classical reworkings after collaborating with his friend Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in October 2018. Reprise features reimaginings of Moby songs such as “Go,” “Extreme Ways,” “Natural Blues” and “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?”

“Sorry if this seems self-evident, but for me the main purpose of music is to communicate emotion,” Moby said in a statement, “to share some aspect of the human condition to whomever might be listening. I long for the simplicity and vulnerability you can get with acoustic or classical music.”
