MJ Lenderman Adds 2025 North American Tour Dates & Makes ‘Tiny Desk’ Debut

MJ Lenderman recently brought his band, The Wind, to NPR Music’s headquarters for their Tiny Desk Concert debut. Lenderman & The Wind celebrated their appearance on the famed video series by extending their 2025 North American Tour into September with a run focusing on the West Coast.

2024 was a huge year for Lenderman as he released his critically-acclaimed Manning Fireworks LP. The nine-track collection was among JamBase's Favorite Albums Of 2024 and was featured on many other publication’s Best Albums Of The Year lists.

The North Carolina-based musician and his band focused on material from Manning Fireworks for their Tiny Desk Concert set. Stripped-down versions of “Wristwatch,” “You Don’t Know The Shape I’m In” and “Rip Torn” represented the album. MJ Lenderman and The Wind also performed “Catholic Priest” from 2021’s Ghost Of Your Guitar Solo.

Lenderman’s ensemble features guitarist Jon Samuels, bassist Landon George, pianist Ethan Baechtold, drummer Colin Miller and Xandy Chelmis on dobro and fiddle. Watch MJ Lenderman & The Wind’s Tiny Desk Concert performance below:

The first of the new MJ Lenderman dates come in June with performances in Indianapolis on June 14, St. Louis on June 15 and Kansas City on June 16. Colin Miller will open each of the new June concerts. Lenderman also added a home state show at Durham, North Carolina’s Durham Performing Arts Center on July 23.

The extensive September run with support from Nap Eyes includes shows in Denver on September 3, Tulsa (Oklahoma) on September 5 and Fort Worth (Texas) on September 6. The tour then hits Phoenix on September 8 and San Diego on September 9. Lenderman performs his biggest headlining show to date in Los Angeles on September 11 with Cass McCombs and Nap Eyes before heading north for concerts in Oakland on September 12 and Sonoma (California) on September 13.

The tour wraps up in the Pacific Northwest with two nights in Portland on September 15 and 16, followed by Seattle on September 18 and Vancouver (British Columbia) on September 19.
