Harpist Mikaela Davis is set to release a new album, Graceland Way, on April 24 through Kill Rock Stars. The record’s latest single, “(Looking Through) Rose Colored Glasses,” features Madison Cunningham and Tim Heidecker.
Davis co-produced the album with bassist Dan Horne and guitarist John Lee Shannon, who also appear across its 10 tracks. Recording sessions were held at UHF Studio in the Chevy Chase Hills outside Los Angeles. The 10-song tracklist includes the previously shared single, “11:11.”
“This album was born in the hills of Glendale, California,” Davis revealed. “On a dead end street high above Chevy Chase Canyon, where the coyotes howl and Bubu the cat roams free.”
Additional contributors include Karly Hartzman of Wednesday, Clay Finch of Mapache, keyboardists Neal Francis and Frank LoCrasto, drummers Austin Beede and Josh Adams, pedal steel guitarist Kurt G. Johnson and percussionist Andres Renteria, among others.
