Mickey Hart Shares Previously Unreleased ‘Planet Drum’ Track

As reported, a 25th anniversary deluxe reissue of Mickey Hart’s 1991 LP Planet Drum featuring three previously unreleased tracks will be released on December 2. The Grateful Dead drummer has shared one of the new additions, the song “Sea Of Showers,” in advance of the record’s re-release.

The new edition of Planet Drum also includes additional arrangements and compositions by Hart and longtime associate and tabla master Zakir Hussain and will be the first time the album is available on vinyl. In addition to “Sea Of Showers” the deluxe reissue also comes with the never-before-heard “Throat Games” and “The Spot.” The two percussionists will perform together this Wednesday, October 26 at Zellerbach Hall on the campus of the University Of California Berkeley alongside talented sitarist Niladri Kumar.
