Michael Kiwanuka confirmed his first studio album in five years, Small Changes, arriving on November 15. Kiwanuka also shared the single “Lowdown,” which consists of two tracks, “Lowdown (part i)” and “Lowdown (part ii).”
Small Changes follows Michael Kiwanuka’s 2019 self-titled album, which garnered the singer-songwriter the prestigious Mercury Prize as well as a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

Michael teamed back up with Danger Mouse and Inflo, the same production team on KIWANUKA, to co-produce Small Changes. The record also sees contributions from renowned musicians bassist Pino Palladino and Jimmy Jam.
Kiwanuka previously shared Small Changes opener, “Floating Parade,” and now follows with “Lowdown (part i)” and “Lowdown (part ii).” Both songs carry a vintage feel. “Lowdown (part i)” is reminiscent of a Jimi Hendrix slow jam and contains a slide guitar solo.
“Lowdown (part ii)” is a gorgeous instrumental textured by a string arrangement and bluesy guitar melody. Both parts are compiled together in a new music video. Watch below:
