Mavis Staples Announces Ben Harper-Produced Album ‘We Get By’

Mavis Staples announced the upcoming release of a new studio album We Get By, which ANTI- Records will issue on May 13. Singer-songwriter Ben Harper produced and wrote the 11 songs making up the legendary soul singer’s 12th solo album.

Staples and Harper previously collaborated on the track “Love And Trust,” which appeared on Staples’ M. Ward-produced 2016 album, Livin’ On A High Note. Staples released her live album Live In London earlier this year and previously announced a series of concerts celebrating her upcoming 80th birthday. We Get By features the lead single and opening track “Change.”

“These songs are delivering such a strong message,” Staples said. “We truly need to make a change if we want this world to be better.”
