Matt Sweeney and Bonnie “Prince” Billy (Will Oldham) shared a cover of Yusuf Cat Stevens’ “But I Might Die Tonight.” The pair contributed their rendition of the song to CatSong Festival 2020, a virtual concert celebrating Stevens’ music that premiered earlier this month.
Sweeney and Oldham, who have recorded under the Superwolves name, recently released a single entitled “Make Worry For Me.” Stevens originally put out “But I Might Die Tonight” on his 1970 studio album, Tea For The Tillerman.

“Bonny and Sweeney and played and sung with and for Yusuf a bunch in recent years,” reads a note from label Drag City Records accompanying the performance video. “Here Camp Yusuf asked them to sing a straight-up cover. Baby Bonny interloped. That’s okay, let go and let god, you might die tonight.” Dave Matthews, HAIM, Jack Johnson & Mimi Naja were among other contributors to CatSong Festival 2020.
