Marcus King released “One Day She’s Here,” the latest single from El Dorado, his forthcoming debut solo record. The Dan Auerbach-produced album is due on January 17, 2020 via Fantasy Records.
Drummer Gene Chrisman, keyboardist Bobby Wood and bassist Dave Roe were among those that backed Marcus on his new single, which was recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound facility in Nashville. “Dan and I wrote ‘One Day She’s Here’ with Pat McLaughlin,” King said of “One Day She’s Here” to FLOOD Magazine. “This was a writing session I was a little bit late to and when I got there they had this bouncy chord progression. We kind of picked it up from there and started moving forward. A recurring theme throughout the record is old Cadillacs. And this idea of something you love fading away into the distance appealed to me as a writer. Something that I think everybody can relate to is seeing something fade away like that.”
