Marcus King tapped The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach to produce his recently released debut solo album, El Dorado. King and Auerbach reunited at Dan’s Easy Eye Sound facility in Nashville to perform El Dorado track “Wildflowers & Wine.”
“It captures the energy of the room and of the players there,” Marcus told Billboard about the video below, “and just the sincerity I hope that we put into every take. It’s not the exact set-up we used, but all the instrumentation on that track was played live together as a cohesive unit and not overdubbed. That’s what gives it that taste, that live feel.” King wrote “Wildflowers & Wine” after he picked up wildflowers on the side of the interstate as he drove to see his girlfriend in Virginia with wine also in hand. Auerbach and Ronnie Bowman contributed to the tune.
