Marco Benevento Guests With Claypool’s Duo de Twang

Hot on the heels of John Popper & Stewart Copeland’s guest appearances on Thursday, Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang welcomed keyboardist Marco Benevento to sit-in on Friday night at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY.

Benevento, a local resident, emerged on accordion for takes on Jerry Horton’s “The Battle Of New Orleans” and Claypool’s own “Dee’s Diner.” Duo de Twang mixed songs from throughout Les’s career, including the theme to TV’s South Park, with covers such as the Bee Gee’s “Stayin’ Alive” and “Man In The Box” by Alice In Chains. Les and Bryan were joined by NYC duo Reformed Whores for a take on The Ventures’s “Pipeline.”

As a reminder, JamBase will present a pair of Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang “pop-up sets” at SXSW on Thursday, March 13.
