Marco Benevento released a new single entitled “Do You Want Some Magic?” The track appears on the keyboardist’s forthcoming studio album, Benevento.

Benevento is due out via Royal Potato Family on June 10. Marco recorded the 11-track collection of “small batch psychedelia” at his home studio, Fred Short Studios, in Woodstock, New York. The name was inspired by Paul McCartney’s first solo album as like Macca’s 1970 LP the keyboardist played nearly all the instruments featured the follow-up to 2019’s Let It Slide. Exceptions came via percussion provided by Mamadouba “Mimo” Camara and vocals from members of Marco’s family.

It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine premiered “Do You Want Some Magic?” with Benevento sharing the following about the track:

“I’ve always loved the 10 minute-plus songs by Can and Neu! where the entire track is basically the drum groove and the repetitious bass pattern. The recreation of this approach has practically become its own genre and I’ve always wanted to try it. The demo for ‘Do You Want Some Magic?’ was made on a plane to London back in 2016 and I finally had time to re-record it at my studio during the pandemic. It was always something I wanted to get back to and finish. It finally felt complete when I added the Japanese translation of ‘do you want some magic?’ to the mix.”
