Multi-genre artist Magdalena Rose released a cover of the jazz standard “Georgia On My Mind.” The reimagining comes in celebration of the timeless classic becoming the official state song of Georgia 45 years ago on April 24, 1979.
While co-written and recorded in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael, the version that became the state song of Georgia was Ray Charles’ definitive rendition recorded in 1960. This was also the version Magdalena Rose first heard growing up in Montana.
