Madonna fans will have to wait longer than expected to get “Into The Groove.” The iconic singer was recently hospitalized in New York City with a serious bacterial infection leading her to cancel all commitments including her Celebration Tour.
As per a New York Post report, the 64-year-old vocalist was found at her home unresponsive on Saturday. Madonna needed to be intubated overnight. She left the hospital earlier today and returned to her NYC home according to CNN. The good news is that Madonna is expected to make a full recovery. “She’s in the clear,” a source told CNN.

Madonna’s manger Guy Osery shared the news of Madonna’s hospitalization and cancelation of the tour in a statement posted on Instagram. “On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU,” Osery wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care.
“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” added Osery. “We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for the rescheduled shows.”
Madonna was supposed to kick off the Celebration Tour in Vancouver on July 15. The pop star promised a setlist filled with her greatest hits. A total of 84 shows was anticipated through January 2024.
