Yesterday, Mac DeMarco participated in a Pitchfork Live session at a studio in Brooklyn, New York. Professionally shot video footage of Monday’s set, as well as audience-captured footage of DeMarco singing karaoke Billy Joel later in the night at a Slowdive after party have been made available to view.
The day began with DeMarco taking part in Pitchfork’s new live series with Pandora called Sounds Like [ ]. Later he appeared for a livestreamed performance backed by his band and a few lucky in-studio (and on stage) listeners. The set focused on songs from the multi-instrumentalist’s recently issued LP This Old Dog, including the title track, “My Old Man,” “On The Level,” “Moonlight On The River,” “One More Love Song” and others. Watch the full set here:
Following Slowdive’s performance last night at Brooklyn Steel, DeMarco was in attendance at the after party at the nearby El Cortez. As Brooklyn Vegan noted, Mac sang a karaoke cover of Billy Joel’s “Just The Way You Are.” Watch video captured by Dana Distortion below:
