The Lumineers appeared as the musical guest on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. The band served up the debut live performance of “Brightside” for the episode and also played three songs as an online exclusive for the show’s YouTube channel.
“Brightside” is the title track from The Lumineers' fourth studio album. The nine-song follow-up to 2019’s III arrives via Dualtone on January 14, 2022.
“The song ‘Brightside’ was recorded in a single day,” said frontman Wesley Schultz. “It’s like a 15-year-old’s fever dream, an American love story in all its glory and heartbreak. The last couple left, on the run from something and all alone…”
Yesterday’s online exclusive performances began with III single “Gloria.” The Lumineers then went with “Gale Song” from 2016’s Cleopatra before returning to III for “It Wasn’t Easy To Be Happy For You.”
