Lotus shared a new single, “Pacific Glow.” The track is set to appear on the jamtronica quintet’s upcoming album, Bloom & Recede, due out August 26 via AntiFragile Music.
Lotus began rolling out singles and videos for Bloom & Recede beginning with “Pluck” in April. The band followed with “Tar Pits” in May and “Time Dilates” in June along with the official album announcement. The latest single, “Pacific Glow,” arrived today.
“Pacific Glow was one of the early pieces we wrote while composing for the album,” Lotus’ Jesse Miller said of the new single. “It takes advantage of the huge sonic range of synthesizers with a sustained sub and big chords while a fast modular synth pattern and guitar melody nest inside. It has influences from 90s electronica and classical minimalism that extend through the whole of Bloom & Recede.”

“Pacific Glow tries to capture the majesty and vastness of the sun disappearing over the Pacific Ocean,” Lotus’ Luke Miller added. “Lush analog chords mix with a meditative guitar melody and bubbling modular synth to make a beautiful image. Bask in the Pacific Glow.”
As with previous Bloom & Recede singles, “Pacific Glow” came with an accompanying performance video. Find it below along with the studio version:
