Los Lobos performed for Los Angeles area nonprofit radio station KCRW’s Live From HQ series. The East L.A.-born collective delivered a career-spanning set in celebration of their 50th year as a band with songs from their 1984 major label debut album to tracks off their latest LP, 2021’s Native Sons.
Los Lobos — David Hidalgo, Louie Perez, Steve Berlin, Cesar Rosas and Conrad Lozano — began their KCRW set with “Will The Wolf Survive?” off 1984’s How Will The Wolf Survive?. The band then offered Native Sons’ “Love Special Delivery” and the title track.

Next, Los Lobos turned to material from their 2006 LP, The Town and the City, in “Chuco’s Cumbia.” The band returned to How Will The Wolf Survive? with the album’s opening track, “Don’t Worry Baby.”
Los Lobos wrapped their KCRW Live From HQ performance with Richie Valens’ 1958 rock ‘n’ roll adaptation of Mexican folk song “La Bamba.” Los Lobos performed the music for the 1987 Valens biopic La Bamba.
