Old Crow Medicine Show and Emmylou Harris are among the first artists performing at the newly revamped, historic Dallas venue the Longhorn Ballroom. Helmed by Kessler Presents, the soft launch for the venue begins on March 30 and stretches into April.

Longtime Austin, Texas-based western swing act Asleep at the Wheel will fittingly headline the first show back at the Longhorn Ballroom on March 30 along with Brennen Leigh and Joshua Hedley as support. Asleep At The Wheel frontman Roy Benson spoke about the historical importance of the Longhorn Ballroom:

“We first played the Longhorn in 1974, and for a bunch of young Bob Wills fans, it was a thrill. I have seen the ups and downs of the Longhorn over the last 50 years, and am very excited and relieved that [head of Kessler Presents] Edwin [Cabaniss] and his team are going to continue to honor the tradition of this special place and make sure it is never forgotten or lost like so many other of Texas’ historic venues and dance halls To be the first band back on the Longhorn stage for the reopening is an honor and an opportunity I take great pride in having. You can bet the dance floor will be packed and Bob Wills music will be played!”

After Asleep At The Wheel, Old Crow Medicine Show is set to perform on March 31 with special guest Joshua Ray Walker. April 1 will see rising country star Morgan Wade headlining with support from Lucero and Kaitlin Butts. Wrapping up the Longhorn Ballroom’s soft launch is the legendary Emmylou Harris on April 22.
