Longhorn Backyard Amphitheater Reveals Grand-Opening Spring Season Schedule

The Longhorn Backyard Amphitheater’s grand-opening spring season lineup was revealed for Texas’ new 6,500-capacity outdoor venue located adjacent to the Longhorn Ballroom.

Mt. Joy, La Mafia and Braxton Keith were the first confirmed performers headed soon to downtown Dallas.

Celebrating 46 years as a band, native Texans La Mafia will perform at the Longhorn Backyard Amphitheater on March 28. Mt. Joy — who this year mark 10 years as a band — will make a stop at the amphitheater for a performance on April 24. Midland, Texas-born singer-songwriter Braxton Keith is also part of the grand-opening spring season with a Longhorn Amphitheater concert scheduled for May 30.

The historic, recently renovated and reopened Longhorn Ballroom was built in 1950 and has hosted countless memorable concerts. The one-time home to Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys was an unexpected stop on the Sex Pistols’ abbreviated first U.S. Tour in 1978.

Mac DeMarco, Rhiannon Giddens, Josh Ritter, Trampled by Turtles, Benjamin Tod, Watchhouse, Jesse Welles and Big Head Todd and the Monsters are among the upcoming shows currently scheduled for the Longhorn Ballroom.
