Little Feat Honors Dr. John In Denver


Little Feat honored Dr. John last night during their concert at the Paramount Theatre in Denver. The band celebrating their 50th anniversary played a cover of “Iko Iko” within a performance of their own “Dixie Chicken.”

The legendary New Orleans musician Dr. John (Malcolm Rebennack), who died Thursday at the age of 77, recorded a version of “Iko Iko” and released it as a single for his 1972 album, Dr. John’s Gumbo. Little Feat’s tribute to Dr. John came at the end of their main set and featured Andy Frasco and The U.N. guitarist Shawn Eckels sitting-in on the Mardis Gras classic.
