Little Feat Honors Dr. John In Denver

Little Feat honored Dr. John last night during their concert at the Paramount Theatre in Denver. The band celebrating their 50th anniversary played a cover of “Iko Iko” within a performance of their own “Dixie Chicken.”
The legendary New Orleans musician Dr. John (Malcolm Rebennack), who died Thursday at the age of 77, recorded a version of “Iko Iko” and released it as a single for his 1972 album, Dr. John’s Gumbo. Little Feat’s tribute to Dr. John came at the end of their main set and featured guitarist Shawn Eckels sitting-in on the Mardis Gras classic.
