The Lil Smokies Perform ‘Gone At Last’ With Anders Beck & Jay Cobb Anderson At The Bluebird
The Lil Smokies shared professionally-shot video containg a performance of Paul Simon‘s “Gone At Last” featuring Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass and Jay Cobb Anderson of Fruition. Audio of the track was recently released as part of The Lil Smokies’ Live At The Bluebird live album.
Paul Simon originally released “Gone At Last” on his 1975 album, Still Crazy After All These Years. The Lil Smokies’ new live album was recorded over the course of a three-night run at Denver’s Bluebird Theater November 29 – December 1, 2018. Guitarist Matt Rieger handles lead vocal duties on the band’s rendition of “Gone At Last.” Beck adds dobro to the cover while Anderson plays harmonica.
“We’ve been grinding really hard for the last few years,” said lead singer and dobro player Andy Dunnigan when Live At The Bluebird was announced. “This live album really captures the spirit and culmination of an immeasurable amount of growing, learning and distilling on stage. Unbridled songs from the previous albums, special guests and a couple surprises await your ears. This is our way of thanking you all for coming out and creating the space for us to create in every night.”
